Cyber Security for Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS)

“Take control over your security risks with the IEC 62443”

There is a rapidly growing demand for ICS professionals with knowledge of cybersecurity in technical and process automation environments. To meet this demand, Hudson Cybertec has developed a comprehensive cybersecurity training for everyone involved in production and process installations, as well as building-related systems such as building management systems, HVAC, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.

This training is also highly relevant for anyone interested in or involved in developments related to Smart Industry, Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, IoT, or IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).

During this three-day program, you will become familiar with relevant cybersecurity terminology, gain a thorough understanding of the IEC 62443 standard, and learn how to apply your newly acquired knowledge and skills within your own organization. The training is delivered in both Dutch and English, and all training materials are in English.

Our primary training location in the Netherlands is Apeldoorn. Outside the Netherlands, we currently offer training facilities in Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. On request, alternative training locations can be arranged, provided there are at least ten participants. Please note that additional costs may apply for alternative locations.

It is also possible to organize the training at your own premises. This can be arranged from five participants and offers a practical solution in which your team can follow the training within their own working environment.

Target Audience

This accessible training is designed for employees of organizations that use Industrial Automation & Control Systems for process control or production automation, or provide related services.

Whether your staff has an IT background, works as engineers or operators, is responsible for security, or is otherwise involved in Industrial Automation & Control Systems within your organization, this training is specifically intended for them. The training includes dedicated sessions for both end users and system integrators.

Certificate of Participation

The training is fully aligned with current EU directives and upcoming legislation regarding demonstrable cybersecurity knowledge within the technical domain.

Each participant receives an official certificate of participation after completing the full three-day training. If you pass the exam, you will receive the certificate “IEC 62443 Security Professional Industrial Automation and Control Systems”, demonstrating that you possess sufficient knowledge of cybersecurity in an IACS environment to develop and implement policies in accordance with IEC 62443 and European regulations.

To register for the IEC 62443 exam, you must have fully completed the three-day training “IEC 62443: Cybersecurity for Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS)” within the previous 12 months.

If you pass the exam, you will receive an exam certificate demonstrating that you have the knowledge required to develop and implement an IACS cybersecurity policy in accordance with IEC 62443 and European regulations.

If you do not pass on your first attempt, you may retake the exam each quarter, provided that:

  • you completed the three-day training within the past 12 months, or
  • you obtained the “IEC 62443 Security Professional Industrial Automation and Control Systems” certificate less than five years ago

Exams are conducted by IBEX (part of Kiwa). In 2022, Kiwa was designated by IECEE to perform certifications within the IEC 62443 standards framework. The certificate is internationally recognized.

The certificate is valid for five years. After expiration, you can extend its validity by two years by completing the refresher training, or retake the exam to obtain a new five-year certification.
